VEGOILS-Palm oil set for weekly loss as rival soyoil drops
KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 (Reuters) - Malaysian palm oil futures fell on Friday and were on course for a weekly decline, tracking losses in rival soyoil, as traders appeared to have shrugged off data that showed improving March exports.
The benchmark palm oil contract FCPOc3 for June delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange slipped 45 ringgit, or 0.79%, to 5,660 ringgit ($1,344.42) a tonne during early trade, on course for a third daily decline.
For the week, the contract lost 6.2% so far.
FUNDAMENTALS
Malaysia's palm oil exports in March rose between 6.7% and 7.4% from prior month as shipments to China and India picked up, cargo surveyors said on Thursday.
Soyoil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade BOcv1 ticked up after a 3% overnight plunge as the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) forecast U.S. 2022 soybean plantings at a record high.
Dalian's most-active soyoil contract DBYcv1 fell 0.3%, while its palm oil contract DCPcv1 lost 1.5%.
Russia said it will ban exports of sunflower seeds from Friday until the end of August and impose an export quota on sunflower oil to avoid shortages and ease pressure on domestic prices.
Top edible oil buyer India has raised the base import prices of palm oil and soyoil as prices jumped in overseas markets.
Palm oil may test a support at 5,606 ringgit per tonne, a break below may cause a fall into 5,384-5,512 ringgit range, Reuters technical analyst Wang Tao said.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 31 (Reuters) - Malaysian palm oil futures fell for a second straight session on Thursday, dragged down by a drop in oil prices on news that the United States may tap its reserves, while investors waited for March export data from cargo surveyors.
The benchmark palm oil contract FCPOc3 for June delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange slid 68 ringgit, or 1.15%, to 5,862 ringgit ($1,395.38) a tonne in early trade.
FUNDAMENTALS
Traders are awaiting cargo surveyors to release export shipment data for March.
Oil futures dived more than $5 a barrel on reports that the Biden administration is weighing releasing some 1 million barrels of oil per day from strategic reserves for several months in a bid to calm soaring crude prices.
Weaker crude oil futures make palm a less attractive option for biodiesel feedstock.

Indonesia: Palm oil exports will increase sharply in the near term as exporters are no longer obliged to obtain permits and sell 30% of their export volume domestically. The government´s revenue will increase because of the much higher export duty, allowing additional scope for subsidizing biodiesel admixture and financing replanting programs.

Глава Масложирового союза России Михаил Мальцев сообщил, что у предприятий по производству растительных масел и продуктов парализована закупка сырья. Он объяснил это нехваткой средств, так как банки не выдают кредиты, плохо с поступлениями валютной выручки. Потребность в кредитовании на сегодня оценивается в 150 млрд рублей.
Появилось проблемы с вывозом продукции и логистикой. В частности, в сторону Прибалтики встал вопрос об отправке продукции железнодорожным транспортом из-за риска конфискации составов. Проблема образовалась и с морской перевозкой, так как иностранные суда не заходят в российские порты.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 (Reuters) - Prices of palm oil and other commodities may see a decline in the second half of the year as a possible stagflation and recession squeeze demand, leading analyst Dorab Mistry said on Wednesday.
Crude palm oil futures are likely to decline to 5,000 ringgit ($1,196) a tonne and eventually to 4,000 ringgit by September, Mistry, director of Indian consumer goods company Godrej International, said at an industry conference in Kuala Lumpur. Prices are currently just under 6,500 ringgit.
However, strong biodiesel production and demand will prevent vegetable oil prices from dropping too much, he added.
Mistry forecast Malaysia's 2022 palm oil production higher at 19 million tonnes, while Indonesia's output is seen rising by at least 2 million tonnes.
Surging energy and materials prices in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine are stirring fears of stagflation, the combination of rising inflation and slowing economic growth.
